BEIJING, Jan. 28 -- A Shenzhen software exporter and India's Systems Life Cycle Ltd. (SLC) inked a deal to set up a joint venture to tap the software outsourcing business in Shenzhen on Wednesday. It was part of Shenzhen's efforts to build the city into a hub for information technology and business process outsourcing, according to Zhu Jianping, an official with the city's bureau of science and technology. "SLC will bring to Shenzhen development work for software projects procured in India and other parts of the world like the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, South Africa and Spain," said Hari Bala, CEO of SLC, which signed the agreement with Shenzhen Jingguang International Software Co. Bala said the business focus of the joint venture would be on 3D graphics and animation, smart-card-based systems, Web applications, network applications, consulting and online games. An official from Jingguang said the joint venture would benefit Shenzhen by insourcing from India and other countries as well as by transfer of software knowledge and skill.
