(2004/03/01)

The Second Session of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) and the Second Session of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will be held on March 5 and March 3, 2004 respectively. Foreign correspondents are welcome to cover the upcoming annual sessions. A press center will be set up at the People's Great Hall Hotel, No.19 Xijiaominxiang Street, Beijing, which helps Chinese and foreign correspondents cover the two meetings.

Correspondents in India who plan to go to China for the events are requested to send their applications (including personal bio-data and company letters) to the Press Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in India (Address: 50-D, Shantipath, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi-110021, Telephone: 26881249, Fax: 26882024). Those whose applications are approved should contact the press center on their arrival in Beijing and submit two passport color photos to the press center. Cameramen are requested to submit their flight information, dates of arrival in Beijing and equipment lists to the Press Office of the Embassy before the deadline for application. Correspondents could stay in Beijing from February 27 to March 20. All the expenses would be borne by the correspondents themselves.

The deadline for applications from correspondents in India is March 8, 2004.
