At the invitation of Mr. Shekhar Gupta, President and Editor-in-Chief of the India Express, H.E. Mr. Sun Yuxi, Chinese Ambassador to India had an interaction with associate editors and senior reporters of the India Express on 15 May.

Ambassador Sun briefed on the achievements China had made during the opening up and reform process and the friendly exchanges and cooperation between China and India in the recent years, especially how the various consensus made by the two sides during President Hu Jintao's last November visit was implemented. He elaborated China's diplomatic concept of building a harmonious world and the policy of friendship and partnership with neighboring countries. He also addressed questions including "how China solve the problems relating to agriculture, rural areas and farmers", "China's investment in India", "China-India cooperation in international arena", "China-India border issue", "China's African policy", "environmental protection", etc.

The session lasted one hour and a half in an active atmosphere. Ambassador's convincing explanation and fluent answers were well received by the audience.

This interaction session is part of the "Meeting with Ambassadors in India" events organized by the India Express, the third largest newspaper group in India. The record will be published in the weekend edition of the paper.
