On Sept. 15, 1984, to mark the publication of the Chinese edition of Indian Epic "Ramayana", Chinese People's Association for Frienship with Foreign Countries held a reception in Beijing. Chu Tuan, deputy president of the association, Indian Ambassador to China Venkateswaran, and Professor Ji Xianlin, chairman of China South Asia Society, attended the reception. Wei Junyi, president of the People's Publishing House, presented the Chinese edition (Translation) of "Ramayana" to Venkateswaran.
