On Feb. 4, 2001, the Chinese government presented emergent aid material worth of 5 million yuan for the earthquake-hit state of Gujarat. An airplane was to take off from the Tianjin Airport and a ceremony was held at the airport with a scroll reading "Chinese People Support Indian People to Fight Earthquake".
